- one Obligation canceled with Contact
This mission may have multiple triggers and contacts. One trigger is part of the Syndicate Debts origin story. You can choose to owe an Obligation to Octane. She will call it in and require you to go on this mission. This is a challenging assassination mission which has a short expiration. If you do not, or cannot take it, your trust rating with Octane will decline considerably.
Relationship to Carnivore[edit | edit source]
There is a mission Carnivore which introduces a Brave Star contact and gives some background. If you have previously run Carnivore, then that Brave Star contact will add an additional complication. Two turns in, they will say they can detect your quantum rider, deploy extra troops, and all troops on the map go to suspicious status. When the target dies, drones deploy, all troops on the map go to alerted status, and will attack any spotted merc. If your entire team is hidden, while they are all alerted, they still cannot attack you until they find you.
After the mission, you contact the person who gave you Carnivore, and tell them that this person DOES have a way to track you. They tell you that they will look into a way to find and it, and you get two options: Tell them you want to destroy it, or tell them you want to take it for yourself. They say that they will get back to you when they have a chance for you to strike. Currently (April 2026) that is the end of this storyline.
