Barracks[edit | edit source]
The Barracks is a default and required room in your Safehouse. It provides a rec room, training grounds and sleeping quarters for the mercenary team. Upgrading the Barracks will increase the maximum team size and allow for more recruits.

The Barracks is the bunkhouse for your mercenaries. The display can be opened by clicking the Barracks in the Safehouse. Clicking on a specific mercenary displayed in the Safehouse will also open the Barracks screen with that mercenary automatically selected.
The left panel of the Barracks screen displays the complete Roster of the team, with one team member selected. The middle panel of the screen is an Information Panel display, detailed information about the selected merc along with buttons to assign the merc to various actions, such as medical treatment or training. The middle panel is a character Information panel with four tabs: Main Info, Talents, Appearance, and Companions.
The right panel display depends on which tab is selected. If the merc has messages to be read, the Main Info tab will have a button displayed in the lower right panel to view the messages.
Roster[edit | edit source]
The Roster on the left panel lists all the members of the team. The display includes their name, their Code Name (if any), their Class, and their Level. If the merc is ready to Train, the Level will be highlighted in yellow. On the left, an image shows the head and shoulders of the merc. Click to select any merc from the list. This will update the information displayed in the middle panel and the Loadout panel.
Colored tags may display on a merc in the Roster, showing status values such as Wounded, Training, New Message, etc. The Roster can be filtered by various statuses such as Alive, Training Ready, Injured, etc. It can be sorted by Seniority, Level, Gear Level, etc.
If a recruitment event is on the Timeline, the Recruit will also be listed on the left panel. The player can review their Attributes and Traits before deciding whether to recruit the merc. A button in the Main Info panel will open the recruitment Dialog.
Information Panel[edit | edit source]
The Information Panel displays information about the character selected. It contains four tabs:
The Main Info and Talents tabs also show the character's Loadout on the right side.
Recruitment[edit | edit source]
Opportunities to recruit new mercenaries become available as the game progresses. Recruits can come from 3 sources:
- Events on the Timeline--a merc recommends a former colleague.
- Underworld Hub--the player can try to find a merc of a particular class.
- Reward for certain missions--the team helps someone who then wants to join.
Upgrading the Barracks allows more mercs to join the team. Level 1 Barracks accommodates seven (7) mercs. Since the starting team is 6 mercs, one more merc can be added to the team before the player needs to upgrade the room. At maximum, the Barracks can hold 16 mercs. Maintaining that many mercs can be difficult due to the need to obtain Experience Points, give Training, manage Stress and Hype, and pay salaries out of Mission fees. In general, a large team is not necessary, but too small a team can cause problems if multiple mercs are recovering from Injury, getting Surgery for an Implant, or otherwise unavailable for Missions.
